Zhenyuan Ancient Town

Zhenyuan is a Miao Ancient Town with a long history. The county was built two thousand years ago, and it got the name in the Song Dynasty. Stepping on the blue stone road, you can see the houses on both sides of the strait are built in the water, which are featuring the green bricks, swaying corners and carved beams. Such a small town surrounded by mountains and passing by clear water will make you fall in love with it. Zhenyuan Ancient Town is also the Chinese Mountain Cliff Building Culture Museum. There are many ancient streets in the town, such as Sifang Lane and Fuxing Lane. Because the lanes are winding, intricate and unruly, it has formed a unique residential architectural feature. If the town during the daytime is likened to fresh and beautiful attraction, then the town at night is charming and poetic under the shade of the moonlight and the light. Zhenyuan Ancient Town is not so noisy as Lijiang Ancient Town and West Street of Yangshuo, and there are no crowds, and the bar is relatively quiet. When you overlook from the balcony of the dwellings, in the distance, there are undulating twilight mountains and the boats in the river are dotted with stars, and the crowds are dancing in the pavilion nearby, which make a beautiful picture.

Zhenyuan Ancient Town does not need tickets, and the transportation from Guiyang to the town is very convenient. The scenery is very beautiful and it is very different from the charm of the Fenghuang Ancient Town. The architectural style that being surrounded by the mountains in three sides is also very characteristic. It has been an important route of the Silk Road since ancient times and it has a profound cultural heritage.

The Zhenyuan ancient town is impressive and worth visiting. The Wuyang River is crystal clear and the streets are clean and tidy. On the banks of the Wuyang River in the evening, there are many bars, and you can enjoy the comfortable breeze on the river banks, which is really pleasant.

Xijiang Miao Village

The Xijiang Miao Village is connected by more than ten natural villages which were built by mountains. It is currently the largest Miao village in China and in the world. On the upper side of the hillside, there are stacks of Miaojia wooden stilted buildings. The old brown house is in the green mountains. The Baishui River divides the village into two parts. On the side of the river (for the tourists, the left-hand side after entering the gate) it is mainly a commercial pedestrian street. On the other side of the river (on the right-hand side after entering the gate for tourists) is mainly the observation deck for overlooking the village.

After you arrive at the Xijiang Miao Village, you can see the gate with the “Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village” plaque. From this gate to the village, there is a 1.5-kilometer road. You can take a battery car or walk. After 1.5 kilometers, you will see a gate with a plaque that is almost the same as the parking lot. This is the real arrival at the village.

Drink wine first, then enter the village. The first thing to see is the commercial pedestrian street, which sells a wide range of Miao specialties. The most interesting ones are the Miao silver ornaments. The Miao silver craftsmanship is exquisite, and because the texture is relatively low, the price is cheap.

The scenic spot is well built. There is a street for eating snacks, and you can go shopping in the commercial streets, or enjoy the folk customs in the museums. There are singing and dancing performances, there are ancient streets, and there are idyllic scenery, wind and rain bridges, small bridges and flowing waters. The lights on the riverside and the main street have modern colors. The lights of the residents’ houses are like fireflies, which light up the entire hillside. It looks quite spectacular. In short, the whole Miao Village needs to be slowly appreciated.

This route needs enough time and enough strength; 2) Take the cable car to the 14th beacon tower, then go up the No. 21 beacon tower, then return to the original road, to the No. 6 beacon tower, and if you have good health, you can go to the No. 1 beacon tower, and finally go down the mountain from the No. 6 beacon tower. If time is sufficient, you can follow the second route.
